    Animo are good spirits at heart. Their nature was so pure, well-intended, or genuine that they felt a connection to remain on Esterin to see their good will continue. Animo are typically weak in combat and many strive to help those in need.

    Ghosts are flickering remnants of their past lives appearing as they did before death. However, they are now transparent and have a coloured tinge to them that drowns out all colour of their body. If the ghost is still coming to terms with its death, it's appearance may reflect how it died. For example, a ghost that had drowned in a previous life may be dripping with glowing water droplets that disappear as soon as they hit the ground. A ghost that died in battle may still have the wounds it sustained in life -- open and flowing with silver blood.

    Flesh Woven are a race similar to flesh golems. They were created by stitching and bolting an assortment of many different body parts, then brought to life with a mana bolt that invigorate its muscles with strength and movement. Differing from a regular Flesh Golems, the intelligence that powers the Flesh Woven are not lesser elementals but life forces. While these life forces have very little memory, if at all of their previous life, this has not stopped many necromancers to attempt to resurrect a loved one in the form of a Flesh Woven. They have small black bolts in various parts of their body, which are used to direct the internal electricity in the Flesh Woven, to the appropriate muscles. The body of the Flesh Woven are covered in stitches and scars where different body parts connect and where missing organs were inserted. Their eyes are usually a bright blue that appears to crackle with energy.

    Shades are cursed souls. A shade has charcoal black skin with glowing white eyes. Their hair color, size, and shape, is reliant on their origin species. Unlike vampires, a shade’s physical body will continue to age; once their corporeal form is disintegrated, they will need to find a new body. Once a shade decorporealizes, they can theoretically live forever.

    Shades have the natural ability of shadow-walk, shadow-morph, and darkvision. They can pass between areas of darkness, as well as make part, or all of their body, into black fog. A shade’s skill is reliant on their personal life’s experience, as well as the experience learned through possession.  

    Shades have the ability to possess other creatures and take over their body. A person possessed by a shade will not know they are in danger until it’s too late, as the shade has replaced that person’s soul with their own. Typically a shade-cursed person will have a slightly too-dark shadow, or exhibit unusual behavior. Eventually, when the shade wishes to possess the user’s body, they will drive the person to madness and subsequent suicide. The soul that was driven to madness by the shade becomes a shade as well -- now never able to return to their own body.

    These creatures are also able to possess high mana weapons. This possession renders their soul unable to move for a few days, but does not bind them to the weapon unless they chose it.  Some weapons that are shade-possessed exist within Verdisol, and had their respective shades for millennia.
