    Astral Avian*

    Bestiary - Astral Avian.jpg

General Description: Winged creatures native to the Rift Lands whose origins and nature is shrouded in mystery. Each of these creatures has a unique appearance that is unlike any other of its species. However all Astral Avians share a few consistent qualities in that they are small creatures with feathered bodies and wings, and a hard mask of bone over their faces. What makes them unique is their strange origins and even stranger behavior.

Astral Avians are said to emerge from the remains lost travelers who wander into the Rift Lands, and perish within. When an Astral Avian is born, it grows a mask of bone which binds it to the Rift Lands, tragically keeping them from ever returning home. Unlike every other species, they do not seek to grow their species by producing more of their kind. Instead they seek travelers who have also lost their way and attempt to guide them to safety to spare them such a cruel fate as that which has befallen them.

Habitat: Astral Avians are bound to the Rift Lands and cannot leave. They make their homes in trees, building nests of twigs and discarded debris as normal birds might. They have no need to feed, and thus spend their time circling their nests in search of travels to guide out of the Rift Lands.

Population: They are extremely rare as many people who enter the Rift Lands do not do so alone, as even the most foolish of men cannot just stumble into the Rift Lands. The chances of spotting an Astral Avian in the Rift Lands is about one to four.

    Bog Crawler

    Bestiary - Bog Crawlers.jpg

A strange breed of fauna sporting 6 legs covered in chitin. It has a large backside, bloated and coarse to the touch - and its appearance matches its repugnant odor. It has a keen sense of smell originating from the floral mouth that it has, which also has a taste for both herbs and meat. At the same time, that particular feature has earned it the name of “Death lily”. They can grow up to be an intimidating size of 1.31m or 4’3”ft or stay at a measly size of 2’ft or 0.61m.

HABITAT: Swamps, bogs, mangroves, and by some extension damp areas of the frontier.

    POPULATION: Abundant / common

    Bulbice*

    Bestiary - Bulbice.jpg

Characteristics: Never bigger than a house cat these babies are speedy and graceful on land and in water. They are mischievous and playful. Being semi-aquatic they can come onto land a few hours at a time but will dig holes and live fish remnants in said holes.

They can typically be tamed by aquans and water elementals and make for great pets once trained as they behave like puppies.

The hanging bulb between their forehead glows when it is too dark for them to see and they use it to entice their prey. They are great for locating nearby water sources and leylines.

    Habitat: Water caves. Beaches. Oceans.

    Population: Rare.

    Cinder Panther

    Bestiary - Cinder Panthers.png

Cinder Panthers typically stand to be around 4-6 ft tall, being anywhere from 8-18t ft long. The felines are dense creatures, weighing anywhere from 400-800 lbs. Ash colored skin and flame-like tails, Cinder Panthers are not something you’d want to contend with. Their cores are similar to pure lava, mostly showing itself through their eyes, chest, and mouths. Their skin is very hot to the touch, capable of burning one’s skin. These creatures tend to live in solidarity. However, if they choose to travel in prides, their numbers are small, ranging from 2-4 felines per pride. They are fairly aggressive creatures, disliking when their territory is encroached on. During mating season, Cinder Panthers get much more aggressive, but stay within a half mile of an active lava source, for they must give birth to their cubs within said lava source to ignite the core of their offspring.

    • Materials Obtained from Cinder Panthers
      • Unlit Cinder Panther Core: A spherical fleshy sac made of a substance similar to liquid Butane. It is incredibly flammable. These can only be obtained from slaying one of these creatures and carving out the core from their chest cavity. Upon the creature’s death, the flame will die out and need to be relit.
          • They can be kept and use it as a source of light and heat, and can be used for powering a blacksmith’s forge. That is, if one can get their hands on one.
          • This material is rare and quite valuable.
    • Habitat: These creatures only live around an active lava source, leaving them little room to roam around Tenebris.
    • Population: Rare. Due to only living in one area of Tenebris, their population is small, only about 3,000 total.

    Corrupted Companion*

    Bestiary - Corrupted Companion.jpg

A sad, lonesome creature that is either found roaming on its own or in packs. These are war dogs, royal hunters, mounts, and anything in between that lost its owner while in the Frontier or Wilds. These creatures will either look physically mutated or distorted, whilst others will have a massive of unusual growth (either plantoid or flesh) across their bodies.

HABITAT: Anywhere outside of city walls.

    FREQUENCY: Very common

    Crag Crab

    Bestiary - Crag Crab.png

Characteristics: Crag Crabs, sometimes known as Lena’s Sandmen, eat large amounts of minerals and rocks as a larva. With its first molt, it becomes the typical Crag Crab, roughly around the size of a beach ball but steadily growing in size over the years. The exoskeleton, unless under close scrutiny, appears to be perfectly ordinary rock covered in strange plants. These plants are called Siren’s Breath, and release a powerful toxin when disturbed.

This allows the Crag Crab to feed on larger prey, though they are typically ambush predators. They rarely are outright aggressive, unless facing small prey or protecting its eggs.

Habitat: Typically around mountains or the mouths of caves.

    Population: Uncommon

    Flamkikot*

    Bestiary - Flamkikot.jpg

Characteristics: A bird whose fragile wings reside closer to its rear than its center making it very difficult, if not near impossible, to fly. They have three eyes on either side of their face and yet they are only nearsighted. They travel in packs of four or five, with the female usually being the leader, and can only feast upon grubs such as worms, bettles, and other insects that reside on or in the ground.

    They rarely ever migrate.

During mating season they are known to lay about 10 eggs per nest.

    Habitat: Swamps, Grasslands, Cooler Forest.

Items: Milk: The female Flamkikot’s milk, especially during pregnancy, induces a feeling of serenity. It can be condensed or concentrated making a meal that much more delicious. However when the milk is dried it can be used as a vital ingredient for truth serums, charms, sleep potions, anesthetics etc

    Population: Rare.

    Fire Ram

    Bestiary - Fire Rams.jpg

Rams are often the sheep of creatures such as Mountain Trolls and other intelligent monsters. Their fur is highly prized as it is flame retardant wool if spun on an enchanted spindle. Their horns and hooves make excellent spearheads, arrows, gun barrels, and other such items. Ram meat is almost entirely inedible unless the ram dies a peaceful death or by the hands of someone it trusts.

Habitat: Common to the Glass Dunes, Obsidian Flats, Mt Archeron, and Broken Isles. Rams will congregate wherever it is dry and arid.

    Frequency: Uncommon

    Flippy*

    Bestiary - Flippies.png

Description: Close cousin to the floppy, flippies are squirrel-like creatures. Their bodies are about the size of a grapefruit ( 10-15 cm or 3-9 in), while their tails are longer adding an extra foot to their length. Their cute bug-eyed appearance is more of a ruse to unsuspecting victims, it’s their tail you should be afraid of, having a sharp row of teeth hidden inside of their large fluffy tails. They feed mostly on fruits and small bugs and smaller creatures on occasion. Flippies are known for their cute faces but dangerous tails, hence the name flippy. They are much bolder than their cousin the floppy, unafraid of the interaction of people. They have shown a higher intelligence than most primal animals and could be easily tamed if you can convince them with a few treats.

Habitat: Any place that has trees or high places to burrow in. (basically almost anywhere)

    Population: common

    Floppy*

    Bestiary - Floppies.png

Floppies are a small creature that looks similar to a weasel/ferret with long ears and a fluffy tail, they don’t have faces so they wear masks instead. Domesticated floppies have a variety of masks at their disposal due to their owners accessorizing with them a lot. The default mask is a simple wide smiley face. Most feral floppies will find bark to be a good material as a mask. Sometimes the wild ones will use thin stones but only the older floppies have the right to wear those.

Wild floppies live in forested areas that burrow and live underground. They are social creatures that live in small groups of 4-6, a group of floppies is called a fluff. Their diet consists mostly of berries and insects. While Floppies are social animals they are quite mischievous in nature, they like to hoard items that they find interesting, they are also very protective of their hoard.

    Population: Uncommon

Habitat: Forests (wild), Urban areas (domesticated)

Size: 15 inches (avg.), 1-5 pounds

    Forge Salamander

    Bestiary - Forge Salamander.jpg

Scalding hot like the environments they reside in, these large beasts have scales as hard as basalt though as hot as heated iron. Massive, though largely passive - these reptilians are typically passive unless provoked, and when they are you’re sure to regret it. They can grow up to a length of 9m, and a height of 1.86m, and their weight is nothing to scoff at. You could easily get trampled by one (Unless of course you’re a salamander Elemental, in which case they’re actually exceptionally friendly.)

HABITAT: Volcanic regions, Select areas of the desert

    POPULATION: Rare

    Gadabout*

    Bestiary - Gadabout.jpg

Characteristics: Gadabout are an uncommon but rumored to be lucky sight for a passing sailor. These 30 foot long creatures are found all across the oceans have six massive fins, propelling them lazily through the water of near any depth. With a mouthful of large teeth they chomp and bite at their prey, though dive to the depths at the sign of predators. The exception being with Water Elementals, at which point Gadabout are friendly and playful creatures. These mainly solitary migrate nearer to islands and sandbars during the warmer months, reuniting with family or mating with their life-long spouse. They are mammals, nursing their young, taking large breaths from the surface before diving into the deep dark beneath the surface for food.

Habitat: All across the oceans, exceptions being near the poles.

    Population: Rare

    Ghost Widow

    Bestiary - Ghost Widow.png

Standing at roughly the same size of a small horse, most of that size attributed to the abdomen, the Ghost Widow is a reclusive if large spider. Its body a sickly pale blue bio-luminescence. Given the ample warning and typically docile nature of these creatures, one doesn’t need to worry too much about them unless they’re stupid and provoke one.

In that case, the danger is escalated quite exponentially. This spiders carry a particularly nasty venom, one that attacks the organs of a person’s body. Virtually eating away at their insides. It will liberally apply their venom in repeated, frantic bites as it tries to ward off anything that dares threaten its life. One bite isn’t too dangerous in of itself but multiple doses of venom can quickly become a lethal problem. Compounding this issue is a Widow’s propensity to travel in families. Ranging from only a few to whole cavern’s worth of spiders.

Weaknesses: The spider is both physically and magically frail, inability to sneak due to constant bio luminescent body. Docile unless threatened.

Habitat: In the caves and caverns around Dranur

    Population: Plethoric

    Glitter Bug*

    Bestiary - Glitter Bug.png

Characteristics: The Glitter Bug a dinner-plate sized creature native to the depths of Esterin, with a carapace that gleams and shines like gold. Small, pointed legs help them to scale most surfaces, while small pincers let them snap at passing critters-- and their spiked tail allowing them to try and smash anything bigger. Not much is known on its life cycle or lifespan, since eager miners and explorers either kill them or sell them to the highest bidder when finding them. Their shell is made of a material similar to pyrite, though Glitter Bugs are known to search for gold to line their nests.

Habitat: Deep inside caves, typically near a stream or gold vein.

    Population: Very Rare

    Griffin*

    griffin

Griffins are majestic creatures that were once commonly known to roam the skies of Esterin before the rise of the age of darkness These proud animals have been a symbol of bravery and justice for ages often appearing as symbols of numerous noble houses throughout the realm for eons. However, their numbers have dwindled to the point where sighting one in the air has become a once in a decade experience. With a body like that of a lion and a head and wings like that of an eagle, the Griffin is a formidable predator both in the air and on the ground. This creature is capable of going toe to toe with animals even bigger than itself using its speed and power.

To tame a Griffin was considered a feat worthy of accolades in days past. Most are tamed when they’re young and impressionable. However, it is not unheard of for full-sized adults to form a bond with someone they deem worthy.

Habitat: Anywhere (A Griffin’s shape and color usually depends on the location it hails from.)

    Population: Rare

    Groundboar*

    Bestiary - Groundboar.jpg

Characteristics: Groundboars, jokingly referred to as Groundhogs, are mean, temperamental, and stubborn creatures. Covered from hoof to horn in stone and muscle, tough spines line its back and culminate in a tough horn on its nose. Males can grow up to 5 feet tall at the shoulder, though females are far smaller on average. With this armament Groundboars ram into most anything that bothers it- be it animals, bugs, boulders, other Groundboars, people, cars- with the exception being Earth Elementals. For whatever reason they seem to respect the aforementioned species. This does not stop people from organizing rodeos and challenging one another to stay atop an angry Groundhog as long as possible.

Habitat: Warm and dry climates across the Dragon's Cradle.

    Population: Common

    Grun Mammoth

    Bestiary - Grun Mammoth.jpg

Gigantic majestic creatures treading through the tranquil expanse of lands that are the plains. They are nomadic, travelling in small groups of 3-5 with the eldest male often times acting as the protector. To further note, they are largely protective towards their young, and moreover are clearly more than a match to handle simple poachers- With size and power to boot. They are usually of a vibrant blue and green color, the only exceptions being its pale underbelly and ivory tusks. [Possibility for unique abilities]

    HABITAT: Plains, grasslands

    POPULATION: Rare

    Gygian Locusts

    Bestiary - Gygian Locust.jpg

Husky, horrifying carnivorous creatures that stalk the countryside in small packs, often found prowling along roads and large open fields to score any kind of small prey, or alternatively a domesticated animal ripe for the taking. Burrowed in hives spread sporadically across the frontier lands follow a sort of matriarchal society, large hives often domineering for territory and assimilating smaller tribes by either inducting their queens into the hive or just killing them. Smaller drones are often 3-5”ft tall, hunched over and run at brisk pace though one inferior to that of an average healthy human. Matriarchs however.. From 5-7”ft, they stand tall and proud, hard skin able to ward off attacks from blunt and small weapons with ease.

HABITAT: Bogs, swamps, grass plains, dark reaches.

    POPULATION: Common

    Harrier Wasp

    Bestiary - Harrier Wasp.jpg

These large insects typically grow up to be at least 2”ft in size and travel by their lonesome, though numbers aren’t necessarily accountable to the many lives these creatures have taken. Four wings easily carry a bottom-heavy figure with a stinger large enough to make a grown man soil his pants in fear. Its appendages are both sharp protected by spiked chitin, although there are some clear weak points an experienced warrior could exploit.

    HABITAT: Bogs, swamps

    POPULATION: Uncommon

    Horned Meebo*

    Bestiary - Horned Meebo.png

The Horned Meebo is similar to a mongoose in size and behavior. Their most defining feature is the scoop-shaped horn coming from their foreheads. The Horned Meebo averages between 6-15 lbs. As they are carnivores, these creatures like to hunt for their food in packs, eating anything from insects to birds. They are exceptional burrowers, living in tunnels they dug out with their horns and claws. Within these tunnels, an entire mob of wild Meebos could be living in there together, typically staying in groups. The Meebos found in cities are capable of domestication, but they must choose to do so on their own and train themselves to begin integrating into a sentient being’s home. They choose their owners carefully, wanting to be sure they are properly cared for. Wild Meebos are harder to train, but it isn’t impossible. If one would attempt to catch this creature, they would need to be able to keep up with its incredibly fast burrowing speed. Once this creature senses danger, it only take mere seconds for it to burrow back underground.

    • Materials Obtained from Horned Meebos
      • Meebo Meat: A tender, delicious piece of meat. It is comparable to rabbit meat, but with richer flavor.
        • Can be used as a cooking ingredient.
        • Fairly common, however, somewhat on the harder side to obtain.
      • Meebo Horn: A scoop-shaped horn made of bone. It can be anywhere from 4-8 inches long on average, depending on the size of the Meebo.
        • Can be used as a material for carved beads on jewelry or as just a general artistic medium.
        • Fairly Common, however, somewhat on the harder side to obtain.
    • Habitat: Forest, Grasslands, Cities
    • Population: Very Common

    Humpback Turwhale

    Bestiary - Humpback Turwhale.jpg

They grow between 20-35 feet in length but are considered slender for their size. Graceful and playful they are known to ‘sing’ to communicate to others in their pod.

    Habitat: Oceans.

Items: Fins & Flukes: The soft ends of these parts are removed from this creature to use in clothes as they are comparable to a higher quality silk. Oil sac: The oil inside is an active substance and can be used in bombs. Meat: Thick and Juicy. Considered a delicacy.

    Population: Extremely Rare.

    Jelly Drakes*

    jelly drake

Jelly Drakes are likely the most varied species in all of the Dragon’s Cradle. Not a single person has seen two that look similar, they come in the same general shape but always in different sizes, colors, and viscosity, often with different extras as well. Some of the species are capable of growing wings for low level flight, while others can grow fins for better travel in water. Their sizes vary greatly as well, with some coming to just a meter long, while others can grow to be some twelve meters in length. The only truly common trait among the Jelly Drakes is the large transparent tail and underbelly, often showing hints of a spine along with several internal organs. They have rather long lifespans, some of the eldest being 200 years old as they came to be as night fell across Esterin.

The Jelly Drakes are pseudo social omnivorous creatures, often living is mismatched packs of up to ten. They tend to have a friendly demeanor, although this can vary just as much as their appearance. Simply look to see, the rare aggressive types will have remnants of recent meals stored within their tails. While the creatures are omnivores and can drain mana from anything they eat, the majority of them simply prefer to drink raw mana from natural sources. Whether it be straight from springs, or crunching on crystals.

Possible Drops: (From least to most rare)

    • Common: Jelly - Chock full of mana, many uses in potions and sometimes explosives.
    • Uncommon: Hide - Highly magic resistant hide, often used in garments designed to reduce magic damage.

    • Legendary: Jelly Heart - The heart of a Jelly Drake, you monster. An extremely valuable item, capable of granting whoever eats it the ability to drain mana from eaten items.

    Habitats:

All across the Dragon’s Cradle, mostly near large sources of mana.

    Population:

    Semi-Rare

    *Tamability:

Jelly Drakes are tamable at any age, and often make great mounts for casters. Magic Rank of at least 3 required as they drain the rider through contact.

    Kidlat

    Bestiary - Kidlat.png

Characteristics: With a peal of thunder comes one of two things: an oncoming storm or a herd of Kidlat. These deer stand up to 6 feet at the shoulder, though their treasured antlers can grow far taller. They are short-haired, with hides various shades of brown, though their faces and antlers are a deep black. Kidlat eyes and the tips of their antlers are a bright electric blue-- and when agitated, channel lightning. Typically they move in small herds, avoiding people and potential predators, though gather to fight for dominance during particularly intense storms. Their skins are valued as powerful insulators and their antlers used as fantastic conductors.

Habitat: Plains, grasslands, and other wide open spaces as well as Leylines

    Population: Uncommon

    Klik-Klik*

    Bestiary - Klik Klik.jpg

Characteristics: Majestic. Noble. Proud. Intelligent. None of these words describe the Klik-Klik, though that fact doesn't stop them. With a double wingspan of roughly 14 feet, these horse-sized insects can carry average humanoids with relative ease.

In the hands of an experienced rider, known to be shockingly agile and quick compared to the average mount. Coming in a wide variety of colors and patterns, they are frequently tamed and used as pets by Xeriks. Klik-Kliks are playful, love to fly, and are known for their loyalty but not longevity. Their tail has a venomous stinger, typical reserved for Harrier Wasps or other creatures, though both the stinger and its claws is traditionally snipped.

Habitat: All across Taunhill and other tropical parts of H’Nua.

    Population: Common

    Kurojak*

    Bestiary - Kurojak.jpg

Habitat: Quite common in woodland or forest areas

    Population within the Realm: Common

General Description including: These creatures are akin in size to your average well built orc and possess a light brown coat of fur that fades to a soft egg white on their underbellies. During the winter, the coat of these beasts changes to pure white with flashes and speckles of brown to help them better camouflage into their surroundings. These beasts are considered omnivorous considering their desire for fish aside from their otherwise herbivorous diet. A small and flattened tail is a strange feature on these creatures at first before one would view them gladly swimming in large bodies of water searching for their favorite delicacy. Large digitigrade feet, each adorned with three sharp claws, help the beasts shred up the fish they eat before lower themselves down to eat. Kurojak’s are very docile creatures, only choosing to fight if they feel threatened in which case they will deliver a powerful kick with their legs and cut into flesh with their claws.

    Lily Frog*

    Bestiary - Lily Frog.jpg

Characteristics: Medium sized aquatic creatures that travel in large groups. They replicate the form of lily pads and will spend most of their lives with their heads above water. On the occasions that they dive under it is to hide from airborne predators or to hunt for small meals.

Their only defensive mechanism is their spikes which look to be plantlike, even bending in the wind, but they instantly become erect once in danger.

During mating season there is a lot of croaking and puffed out vocal sacs.

    Habitat: Lakes, Ponds, and Rivers

Items: Spikes: Can be ground up to make poisons, paralytics, hallucinogens, etc.

    Population: Prolific.

    Mantaris Arachnid*

    Bestiary - Mantaris Arachnid.jpg

Hell. The very definition of a crawling horror. The Mantaris derives its name from “mantis”, the sole purpose being that its feeding process mainly involves decapitation… Now what truly makes this creature horrifying is its body - ever-present, otherworldly qualities like seemingly limitless potential to pivot its body completely, as if it joints were on a free axis, and its skin was elastic enough to nullify any strain. The sounds it emits.. It just makes it all the more eerie. Hissing, soft cracking even. Place that in tandem with the fact that it hangs from branches, stalks in the dark, and has a poisonous bite and viola! Here’s more nightmare fuel.

    HABITAT: Tall trees, the frontier

    POPULATION: Uncommon

    Mohprix*

    Bestiary - Mohprix.jpg

The dreaded, adorable Mohrprix. Largely known as the odd mix between owl and cat. Covered in layers of fuzzy huggable fur, they are sized no larger than a cat (though thankfully aren’t as lazy as one). They are the selective type of omnivorous, eating only a limited selection of flora though are free to eat most meat at their leisure. To other creatures they act careful and reclusive, running away from any larger animal in general when they come face-to-face with one. However the friendlier or dauntless ones that have approached people are… actually very friendly. There is definitely a chance to domesticate one if given the opportunity.

HABITAT: Forests, tall trees, small holes, grasslands

    POPULATION: Uncommon

    Niraginnaya*

    Bestiary - Niraginnaya.jpg

Ole! Infernal eyes, red bodily hair. The beast is the demonic equivalent of a bull, most times found domesticated in farms to help with hard labor such as plowing fields or pulling carts filled with supplies. Of course this is something it does with relative ease, for with a strong back comes its crushing weight. able to direct that power to tear through a man if those massive horns ever aimed to ram into someone. Weighing from a range of 750kg-1326kg and once recorded height comparable to that of an average elf, these are definitely not something you’d ought to piss off.

EXPANDED BEHAVIOR: Totally not an allusion to melting.. They are angered and drawn forward by the color BLUE

    POPULATION: Uncommon

HABITAT: Farmland, Seldom times running rampant near grasslands

    Opysis Lizard*

    Bestiary - Opysis Lizard.jpg

Small, fast. Troublesome little critters- and how do they escape so fast with limbs positioned like that? Whimsy aside, these small omnivorous creatures can be found littering the forest floor and lakes in abundance. They’re largely versatile on both land and water,, agile and literally slippery to the touch with skin in likeness to amphibians- however if someone were aiming to catch one per-se, the fact that it’s comparable in size from a large bird to small monkey makes it fairly generous in terms of hunting.

HABITAT: Forests, small burrows, lakes, ditches

    POPULATION: Common

    Orchid Viper

    Bestiary - Orchid Viper.jpg

A species of snake that can grow from 26-66 cm in length. As the name says, these snakes are found with a seemingly innocent white crown that matches its head, along with a leaf-green body.

HABITAT: Normally found in the forests making up the frontier and along some gardens within domestic homes.

    POPULATION: Uncommon

    Owlbears*

    Bestiary - Owl Bear.png

    REFERENCE: N/A

    Prism Rattler

    Bestiary - Prism Rattler.png

A rather gigantic snake, measuring 15 feet long from tail to head and easier 3-4 feet in width. The color in scales range and vary widely, but all have a rattle tail. The Prism Rattler is a weird and not-so little abomination that has a rather unusual and horrifyingly grotesque defining feature. About halfway up the body, their form splits into three distinct segments that rejoin to make the ‘head’ of the snake. Eight eyes adorn its face, four on either side, and mandibles on the outermost segments of the body. By far, easily, its most disgusting trait is the mouth. More opening up its face and head to introduce a person to the rows upon rows of serrated fangs.

This reptilian abomination is rather hostile and insanely territorial and will attack most unwitting adventurers after only giving the smallest of warnings by the rattle of their large and powerful tail. The scariest factor, however, lies in their venom. If bitten, or stung by the mandibles, the venom acts as a blood thinner and anticoagulant.

Unique Power: Mana Sight: Using the uppermost pair of eyes, the Prism Rattler can see the auras of magical creatures or those of spell casters.

    Weakness

Magic in general is a weakness of the Prism Rattler. While its scales are tough and durable, making it a bit harder to damage with normal weaponry, it has little defense against magic. Through instinct, it understands this and will generally be more wary and cunning when attacking a group a mage.

    Habitat: Prism Dunes

    Population within the Realm: Plethoric

    Sand Runner*

    Bestiary - Sand Runner.jpg

Akin in size to that of a large whitetail deer, these creatures come in a variety of colors but are most often seen with blue, green, or sometimes black feathers. Males are almost always adorned with green feathers whereas the females possess the more flashy colored feathers. Thick feathers coat their underside in order to protect them from the heat of sand or rock during midday and special webbing on their feet allows them to better run through the sand. A solitary creature, these beasts are rarely seen in groups bigger than two during mating season. Though predatory and aggressive by nature, these creatures are known to be tamed and kept as both pets or protection. It’s been said that they often times form a strong bond with their owner or even show thankfulness to those who help them if they are injured or in need.

    Habitat: Desert or plains region
    Population levels: Uncommon

    Spearhead Shark

    Bestiary - Spearhead Shark.jpg

    Size: 20-25 meters long.

    Weight: 3000 to 4000 lbs.

Overall Appearance: These monsters are smaller and much lighter than the Demon Shark. Their most distinguishing appearance is their extended snout, strange fins, and long neck. The Spearhead has a very tough and armored body to protect them from stabbing and biting. Many sharp spines running along its back.

Typical Behavior: Spearheads are extremely aggressive and do not need to be provoked to be prompted to attack sailors, fish, or other sea monsters. They will hunt and eat anything they find. These sharks do not fear anything and usually swim so close to the top that they are always visible and thus can be avoided.

Combat Skills: They have very unpredictable movement and attack patterns which makes it difficult to avoid an attack. Since they are smaller and lighter, they are the fastest of the sea monsters. The Spearhead uses its snout to cut through flesh, rock, and player ships.

The main weakness of these monsters is cannons. A strong cannon can pierce its tough, armored skin although this reduces the price if it is being hunted. They can also be killed by other Spearheads and competent Aquans.

    No special abilities.

    Level: Very Hard

Population: Common but found only in Spearhead Bays

These are small docile reptilian creatures that feed on the nectar in flowers in order to survive. They are often found in trios and are vital in pollinating various plants and flowers throughout the realm. Stilioflies are known to be very friendly and many can be tamed as pets. Usually, owners would have gardens for them to feed on, but substitutes for nectar like sugar syrup can also suffice for their diets. Due to their social nature, Stilioflies are happiest in the company of others and usually get depressed when alone for long periods of time. They can live up to 15 years and sometimes even longer if well taken care of. Usually, they do not last as long in the wild and are taken by predators or disease before living out their full lifespan.

    Habitat: Forest, Fields, and Cities.

    Toothed Glowhopper*

    Bestiary - Toothed Glowhopper.png

The Toothed Glowhopper is an insect that appears to be a mixture of a luminescent grasshopper and a venus flytrap. It has a long, crocodile-like jaw atop its head with what appears to be a glowing flower sprouting in between it. This 6 legged insect, only being about 8 inches long, has a singular hole in its head that it uses to sense things in its surroundings. However, these creatures do not have actual vision. Their abdomen also has glowing properties that it can flicker on and off. The reason this insect draws attention to itself is so it can feed. It eats other insects or even smaller animal, anything it can sink its teeth into. This creature is not aggressive, but if you were to try to touch the “flower” sprouting from its head, its jaw will attempt to close and latch onto you. It does this with anything that comes into contact with it.

Their hides, fire lungs, horns, teeth, and claws are highly sought after by alchemists.

HABITAT: Anywhere high or near a mana outlet. There is a large nest of sea wyverns near the Luminescent Bay.
